The 1999 program for the coaching courses are presently being arranged. If you wish to be involved and learn the secretes, complete the form below and forward to Skiing Australia or email your details to Andrew.Slocombe@skiingaustralia.org.au. This will ensure that you will receive the 1999 Skiing Australia coaching certification program and all other cross country ski coaching information.

With 3 courses planned in June and July 1999 should see all skiers and coaches that are interested in coaching have the opportunity to gain the knowledge to assist skiers to perform at their best.

Level 1 Coach Course: This course is an introduction to Entry Level coaching, the course held over 2 days covers the latest in basic skiing technique, weekly and seasonal planning, drills and exercises that bring skill acquisition into cross country skiing. The course includes ACC (Australian Coaching Council) Theory, Technical and Practical components and includes all SACC (Skiing Australia Coaching Certification) materials.

There are no prerequisites for this course, however, full certification at Level 1 is mandatory prior to enrollment for the Level 2 SACC course.

Level 2 Coach Course: This course is directed at club level coaches and those who are working with young athletes through to senior competitors. You will learn strategies for error detection and correction, whilst learning further drill selection that increase skill acquisition to an high performance level. You will be working on long term development of programs and be introduced to the FIS rules that govern ski racing. In addition you will learn how to plan and integrate all aspects of a year round athlete and team, training and competition plan. Candidates will be assessed on skiing, coaching knowledge. The course includes ACC Theory, Technical and Practical components as well as all SACC materials.

The prerequisite for this course is Level 1 SACC and Level 1 APSI.

Minimum number of candidates is 6 per course.
