Ultimate Training Session:Cycling up Donna Buang with deluded fantasies of being off the front in a mountain stage of Le Tour, a ski when technique really clicks.
Loves: Genuine and thoughtful people who are passionate about what they do and believe in. Catching and passing my training partner Clare-Louise in a Race Pace (she gets a little head start!). The care-free 30 seconds after completing an intensity session.
Hates: Feeling good about beating my training partner Clare-Louise. I should pick on someone my own gender …….. and size?
Other Interests: I have a passion for food, sporting biomechanics, studying physiology of the immune and gastrointestinal system.
Favourite Meal: Simple things done very well, good and really fresh food.
Favourite Movie: I saw 'Kenny' yesterday which was a real laugh. The masterfully well orchestrated finish of the Shawshank Redemption is a classic. 007 movies. National Lampoon's vacation just for the part where Chevy Chase punches the plastic moose.
Favourite TV show: House, ER, All Saints, Boston Legal.
Favourite CD: At the moment 'The Superjesus' "Jet-Age" and Strokes "Room on Fire" is in my car.
Last Book Read: Chapter 17 of my Physiology text book
Who would you most like to go skiing with? Andrus Veerpalu when he's doing an interval session. I'd be content to sit in behind. WANT his classic technique.
What is your ultimate dream in XC-Skiing? To put together a personally great and satisfying race at the top level - be it world cup, a world championships or Olympics. Having family there to share it with me.
