The Course

Due to the poor weather, and in view of skier safety, a modified course was set for all three events. The Sun Valley loop was shortened to 5km, and a loop was set out to Watchbed Creek along the road and then back via Paul’s Track. The Hoppet was reduced from 42 to 25 km, the Australian Birkebeiner from 21 to 15 km and the Joey Hoppet from 7 to 5 km.

Weather & Snow Conditions

A very poor cover of snow together with very wet, cold and windy weather with very poor visibility.
