The Kangaroo Hoppet is now proud to present three amazing sporting events each year.
Whether you are an elite athlete wanting to take on the world’s best, a weekend warrior yearning for some more adrenalin in your life or you simply enjoy getting outdoors with your friends, we can offer you a range of exciting and exhilarating experiences in the beautiful mountains of the Alpine Shire.
Join us in the Upper Kiewa Valley, for the iconic Mt Bogong Conquestathon in February/March, the Mount Beauty Running Festival in May, and the Kangaroo Hoppet international cross country ski marathon at the Falls Creek Alpine Resort and Bogong High Plains in August.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT INCLUDING FOOD AND WATER:
YES, THE MANDATORY EQUIPMENT IS … MANDATORY !
Checking of equipment at registration will occur before you are provided with your bib number and timing chip and we want everyone who registers to be able to participate...
You will not be permitted to participate in the event if you do not have the mandatory equipment at registration.
One of our aims of encouraging people to join in the awesome experience of Mount Bogong Conquestathon with the support of other people, is also to help everyone understand the significance of being prepared for when something does not go to plan and you are on the ground, getting cold waiting hours into the night for a response to a Triple Zero call when going hiking/running at anytime and not only for an event!
This is especially important in an alpine environment.
- Keep yourself safe and prepared.
- This is for your own safety and all event volunteers, but more importantly, taking responsibility for yourself every time you go hiking/running for when you might be caught out longer than expected.
The weather conditions vary greatly in alpine environments, especially between what is being experienced at Mountain Creek Campground and Mount Bogong Summit.
Weather can change within minutes at higher altitudes.
Now is a great time to check that you have adequate and up to date Ambulance Membership from your permanent state of residence, if Triple Zero is called.
You will not be permitted to participate in the event if you do not have the following items at gear check and registration:
You are responsible for carrying your own first aid kit and personal medications
● Waterproof Jacket with hood
● Thermal top
● **Snake bite bandage **(proper one with indicator squares for correct firm compression, if you get bitten by one or more of our Mount Bogong venomous snakes you are going to wish you bought the real bandage with the indicator squares)!
● Water (minimum 2L)
● Phone (download the Emergency Plus App)
● Whistle
● Space blanket
● Personal Medications (eg:EpiPen and Asthma)
● Food/lunch and snacks /energy bars and bags to carry out toilet paper or waste if you can't use toilets at the 2 toilets on course.
• Event bib number (with any medical conditions written on the back in case of emergency)
