In November I sent out a letter, regarding next year's Calendar. That letter provoked some reaction, and a SAXCC meeting made slight changes to the dates sent out - date of Vic Champs revised, and the lengths and styles of championship dates have been decided. The National long distance race will be the long race in that state. For 2000 this will be the new race "Snowy Mountains Classic" which replaces the Paddy Pallin. This will be reviewed for 2001.Many races are set for the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th weekend of the month, but the Hoppet is set as the last weekend in August, which can be the 4th or 5th weekend. This means a set weekend in August will vary in relation to the
Hoppet which is our biggest X-C race. Clubs should describe their race in relation to the Hoppet. Calling the first weekend in July as weekend No1, then the Hoppet is on weekend No 9. The following are the 2000 dates:W/E 3 Sat 15 July: NSW/ACT Seniors 5/10 pursuit

Sadly, there are a couple of races which missed out this year because of (very) late submission. Once the completed Calendar is sent to publishers and printers there can be no further additions or alterations.
