Need a lift to the Kangaroo Hoppet?
The Hoppet has partnered with CoCoRide.com.au to provide a 'ridesharing' service for skiers. If you're planning on driving up to Falls Creek for the event, you can share a ride by jumping on to the CocoRide website and registering as either a driver or a passenger. If you've got a car, you can take other runners with you and share the cost of the petrol. It'll be a great way to meet people, share training ideas and reduce your carbon footprint.
CoCoRide is part of a research project sponsored by the Australian federal government. The objective is to change attitudes towards ridesharing so that more people see it as a viable transport option. We hope that through ridesharing, we will reduce the environmental impact of transport, improve social inclusiveness by encouraging conversations between strangers and reduce the cost of travel to sporting events.
