With the opening up of the Lake Loop to skiers on 1 August, the complete Kangaroo Hoppet course is now groomed and available for recreation and training.

In 2005 Right To Play entered into an agreement with the International Ski Federation (FIS) to work together to promote sport and play as a tool for the development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world. The major project being supported by skiing is at Kigoma in Tanzania.
